Swinburne University Case Study

I’d like to share with you a technology trial that I have been working on for the last 12 months with a Melbourne based firm – Sonnant. I have shared this with many senior Learning Innovation officials within the university circle in Australia and it has been a very positive experience.

The technology transcribes lectures and combines the video/audio with the transcription text making it into a digital artefact that extends normal lectures. This solution comes with a customised media player that enables students to playback video/audio and text of lectures. Text can be downloaded and edited to make customised notes. There are also analytics for the lecturers to see usage and of what students searched for, giving lecturers an instant feedback post lectures.
